Empowering Wisconsin's Youth: Free Driver's Ed for Eligible Students
At "Get in Gear," we believe every student deserves access to quality driver's education, regardless of financial circumstances. That's why we're proud to spotlight Wisconsin's groundbreaking Driver Education Grant Program - a state-funded initiative ensuring all students can get on the road safely and confidently.
Governor Tony Evers' Commitment to Safer Roads and Equal Opportunities
Launched under the leadership of Governor Tony Evers, this program reflects a strong commitment to investing in Wisconsin's youth and promoting road safety. Governor Evers has championed initiatives that break down barriers to education and skill-building, and this grant is a testament to that mission.
What Does the Grant Cover? Eligible low-income students in Wisconsin can access:
- 30 hours of classroom instruction
- 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training

Why It Matters By investing in driver's education, Wisconsin is:
- Enhancing road safety for all residents
- Expanding job and education opportunities for teens
- Empowering families to focus on the future, not expenses
At "Get in Gear," we fully support this initiative and look forward to helping more Wisconsin students hit the road with confidence and skill!

Important Update: Program Demand and Future Opportunities
The program was so popular that it ran out of funds within weeks and will likely not receive additional funding for up to a year. However, "Get in Gear" offers a scholarship program, “Fuel the Future”, to help fill this gap for families in need. We encourage interested families to sign up for our mailing list to receive updates about the grant program and our scholarship opportunities.
